Eleanor Jean Gonzales was born just before Spring on March 15, 1943, to excited parents, Domingo and Virginia in Marysville, California. They lived in a small 5-bedroom house. She was the second child in a series of 4 siblings, MaryLou, Shirley, and Alvin, and she loved them with her whole heart and soul. She moved to Camp Verde, Arizona in 1992. Eleanor held many titles in her life, she was an entrepreneur, some old timers remember her from Wizard of Vid on Main Street. A builder & a craftsman at Lancer Mobile Homes. She did customer service and sales for years at the old Woody’s Gas Station. She even raced stock cars back in the day. Her most treasured titles were the ones she was given by family: Daughter, Sister, Cousin, Momma, Aunt, and Granny. Eleanor was a mother to 5 beautiful girls, Debbie, Dana, Denise, Ginger, and Shannon, that she was so proud of, they made her world go ‘round. Her daughters turned her into a grandmother, her grandchildren, Antone, Mulysa, Myshayla, and Robbie were her pride and joy. Becoming a great grandmother didn’t slow Eleanor down a single step, she actively participated in Bubba, Jason, William, Kannon, Forest, and Kayden’s lives.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, Domingo and Virginia, her first husband Jay C Reed, her second husband Burl Sherrill, her daughter Shannon Morris, her daughter Debbie Erickson, and her daughter Dana Rose. She is survived by her siblings, MaryLou, Shirley (Richard), Alvin(Debbie), Her daughters, Denise Scott, Ginger Sherrill-Dunston(Raymond), Her grandchildren, Antone Rose, Mulysa Guthrie (Skylar), Myshayla Justus (Randy), Robbie Dunston, and her great grandchildren Bubba, Jason, William, Kannon, Forest, & Kayden.
Eleanor lived a life of love and laughter and shared her heart with many in our community. A light as bright as the sun has faded and cast a shadow of sorrow and grief over her family and friends. Please pray for them as they learn to walk down a much dimmer path.
