Obituary of Joan Marie Schrambling Duncan

Joan Marie Schrambling Duncan was born on Easter Sunday April 5, 1953 in Cottonwood, AZ and passed from this earth on Pentecost Sunday June 9, 2019 while in Valley View Hospice in Cottonwood, AZ.

A lifelong resident of Clarkdale and the Verde Valley. Joan worked for the county assessors office for appraisals. She also had been a caregiver for the majority of her life between taking care of the elderly, those with dementia, sick family, while raising three daughters all on her own.
Joan lived her life serving others before herself and taking care of her family.

She loved gardening, animals, helping stray animals, telling a good joke, getting a good deal, volunteering for St. Vincent de Paul and for her church Immaculate Conception. She was a devoted follower at Immaculate Conception and helped plant most of their gardens.

She was a strong woman and fighter over the years and beat the first 3 of her 4 cancers.

She is preceded in death by her mother Patricia Schrambling, her father William Schrambling, her sister Johanna Schrambling, and her brother William Schrambling. She is survived by her daughters Lacy, Jessie, and Chelsea Duncan. Also her brother Pete Schrambling, as well as her sisters Regina Schrambling, Roberta Jones, and Stefanie Griffin. Her nieces Zarah and Chrissy. Her nephews Joseph, Derek, Billy, Elijah, Daniel, and Nick. As well as many extended friends and family.

In lieu of flowers people are welcome to make donations in order to help cover funeral costs, in honor of her to Immaculate Conception, Valley View Hospice in Cottonwood, or the Susan G Coleman foundation.

She would want people to remember that family always means everything, always comes first and to help others when you are able to do so.

The Catholic Funeral Mass will be Friday, June 14, 2019 at 1pm at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
